Being the ridiculous stress-head that I am, here I am at the train station 40 minutes early, having pretty much just run here in fear of missing my train. My sense of timing is evidently just a little warped. However I will take this moment of pause to deliver a long time coming update.
So much has happened in my two months of silence. We have created two displays, have made a fair amount of progress on our fashion expo (but that’s another story) and made, bumped in and bumped out our paper couture.
So Nike, a display for Nike Fly Knits which was riddled with issues of communication and time. Note this was not an official Nike display, but for a local shopping centre. However I am not going to go into the details. It seems so long ago, I wouldn’t give them justice. However all was pulled together in the end resulting in a collective sigh of relief. Within the project I was responsible for the accompanying artwork, an aspect I have found this year I have a great interest in. However it was a lesson in logos and contingency plans. Here’s a heads up for students- it is ridiculously difficult to get logo permission use. So unless stated, for such projects, just leave them out. Here it is below, unfortunately it was one of those awkward designs, which didn’t photograph well, looking a lot better in real life. Mind you, that is until someone came along and pulled down some of the string art, unfortunate, but somewhat inevitable in such a busy shopping centre. So key message- security is your friend if you don’t want to come back to your impeccable work to find it in a state of complete disarray.
(The first banner would have displayed the Nike tick, had this been okayed.)
